I have a Japanese Sword that was brought back from Okinawa. It is in excellent condition but, tusuba on it has long been gone. It was made in 1939 by Take Hisa. His name is on it but, I believe it is machine made.

I have a couple of swords myself and I’m going to have them checked out. Oh, by the way I was a student of Tremont in the early 60’s and I remember that the mats was a boxing ring. I helped lay down sensei’s first mat. Under the mats was a T made out of pennies. My brother and I were members of the judo “tiger” team. and we went all over the country at competitions.
Our main rival was Kuysu dojo who’s instructor was a thin red headed woman named Rusty.
Nuff said.
