I have been an avid apartment gardener for years. It is something I picked up from my parents when I was young. Though I have done quite well over the years, this year stands out. The difference, this spring after I moved most of my plants out onto the terrace, I repotted many with fresh soil and fertilized everyone.
The results, all of my flowering plants were covered with blooms. I had my largest crop of tomatoes and I finally got a water Lilly to bloom after four years of trying. To my surprise, I had virtually no bug issues and all my foliage plants just looked happy and radiant. I could go on and on.
What does this have to do with health?
Think of your body as a garden. If the soil is weak and full of weeds, seeds sown won’t grow well. When the garden is fertilized, watered and given some daily attention, seeds can grow strong and bloom into healthy plants. If we develop our body’s garden, through proper diet, exercise and stress management. Then take advantages of wellness modalities like acupuncture, reflexology, herbs etc, the seeds of good health can come to fruition.
The formula for good health is not complicated. We just need to become good Health Gardeners for ourselves, families and communities.
